As a result of geological development, the surface of the Central Asian region consists of mountains and plains. The main part of it has created promising opportunities for the settlement of the population, the use of natural resources, and the cultivation of crops. Such a plain is located in the north-east of the Turan lowland in the east of the Aral Bay, its geographical, paleogeographic, hydrological features depend on the dynamics of the Amudarya and Syrdarya rivers. In particular, in this article, the paleogeographic situation of the area between Amudarya and Syrdarya in ancient times, the processes of early population settlement, the conditions and factors for the creation of the first micro-oases and fortresses, as well as the early ethno-cultural issues in the area are revealed on the basis of archaeological materials.
