Annotatsiya

Margilan is one of the oldest cities in Uzbekistan. Ancient Ferghana urban planning occupies a special place in the history of Central Asian cities. In the Middle ages, Margilan was famous for silk and cotton fabrics, an abundance of various fruits. Archaeological and paleogeographic studies show that the Margilansay oasis was developed for irrigated agriculture already in the late bronze age, and the first anthropogenic landscape is being created here. The article will cover the information provided in written sources of the city of Margilan, which occupied an important place in urban planning in southern Fergana, and the formation of anthropogenic landscapes in urban planning processes based on the conclusions of archaeologists who conducted research on this territory.
