This review systematically analyzes scientific literature on the biologically active compounds, chemical composition, and pharmacological significance of Prunus cerasifera L. (cherry plum) and Prunus cerasifera var. Pissardii (purple-leaved cherry plum). the analysis indicates that these plants contain high levels of flavonoids, phenolic acids, anthocyanins, organic acids, vitamins, and mineral substances. in particular, the high anthocyanin content in these varieties determines their strong antioxidant activity and highlights the prospects for practical application.
