This article discusses issues related to the participation of a representative in civil proceedings, the classification of legal representation, the grounds for representation and the procedure for participation in the case. The article analyzes the institution of civil procedure representation, which provides legal assistance in civil proceedings and promotes the protection of the rights and legally protected interests of the participants in the process. The author analyzes the practical experience of foreign countries in improving representation in civil procedural legislation. As a result of the study, proposals and recommendations were made to improve the institution of compulsory judicial representation in domestic legislation.
