This article examines the development of the cotton industry in the late 19th – early 20th centuries, as well as the activities of firms and joint stock companies. The article was prepared on the basis of archival materials of the Central State Archives of the Republic of Uzbekistan, analysis of thehistorical literature of the Russian Federation, Uzbekistan and far abroad, as well as on the basis of press materials of that period.
