This study examines the progress of green finance from 2000–2025, exploring its challenges and importancefor Uzbekistan as well as other countries. While green bonds play a significant role in combating climate change andpromoting eco-friendly development, the industry still faces issues such as confusion over what qualifies as green, lackof unified standards, greenwashing, and generally low public awareness. It is demonstrated that green finance performswell when explanations are clear, regulations benefit all stakeholders, and investors are satisfied. Success stories fromthe EU, China, and India show that cooperation, consistent regulations, and a variety of financial instruments drive thegrowth of green finance. Similar policies, improved financial education, and consistent terminology use are recommendedfor Uzbekistan. Advanced training of experts could help Uzbekistan’s economy better utilize clean technologies and greenfinancial systems. Overall, studies indicate that when used properly, green finance can increase the region’s financial andenvironmental well-being.
