The paper presents a water-free portable device for extracting entomopathogenic nematodes (EPN) from soil directly under field conditions; the device is protected by invention patent of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. IAP 8028. Its design, main technical parameters and operating principle are described. Compared with the classical baiting and Whitetrap methods, the device simplifies the procedure, saves time and resources and preserves sample quality. The extracted nematode Steinernema feltiae was tested against the cotton bollworm (Helicoverpa armigera) on cotton fields. In three-stage production trials the biological efficacy at 144 h reached 66.4–83.4%; on average 4.6–5.7 c/ha of additional yield was preserved and profitability reached 67%.
