There are many collectors of Russian proverbs and sayings, so it is impossible to list them all This article provides a list of the most famous people who collected Russian proverbs and sayings. The listed and other writers and collectors of Russian proverbs made a huge contribution to preserving the identity of the Russian people, because folk wisdom does not age over the centuries and teaches the younger generation. As they say, “the proverb never breaks”!
