Based on the analysis of the national economy structure and specifics of population employment, the author substantiates the relevance of the development of continuous engineering education system in the Republic of Belarus. The main elements of such a system and their interrelation are defined. The author substantiates the inclusion of the pre-professional training stage in the system of continuous engineering and technical education and presents a variant of its realization through profile education in grades 10-11 of general secondary education institutions. The author defines the range of different educational routes to master technical and engineering specialties and achieve the highest possible level of qualification. Prospects for the development of the Concept of Continuous Engineering and Technical Education and the methodological basis for the construction of such a system in the Republic of Belarus are defined.
