THE PLACE OF THE SALERNO MEDICAL SCHOOL IN THE SYSTEM OF MEDIEVAL EUROPEAN TRANSLATION CENTRES: Makhmudov Otabek Validjonovich Doctor of Philosophy on Historical Sciences (PhD), Associate Professor Head of the Department of World History of Fergana State University
The article, based on the analysis of Latin sources, describes the Salerno School as a translation centre, which in the Middle Ages was considered as the earliest medical institution in Europe. The author, based on the results of his research, has come to the conclusion that this school should be ranked in the first category in the system of medieval European centres of translation, i.e. translation centres in the form of scientific and educational institution.
