This article presents the general design of the theoretical and methodological analysis of the conceptual and terminological apparatus of the «science of innovation» in the study of the problem of the formation of psychological readiness for innovative activity, as the basis of «innovative competence» of the individual’s competitiveness. The results of the theoretical analysis of the literature of the problem under study in science and practice are disclosed. In order to develop the conceptual and terminological apparatus of the study, the objects of analysis of the main concepts are defined and grouped according to the hierarchy of tasks. The first group includes the tasks of analyzing the specifics of the genesis of development and the essence of the terminological characteristics of the concepts of science «innovation», their identity and difference. The second group includes the tasks of analyzing the areas of study of the problem under study and the structural components of the construct «formation of the psychological readiness of the personnel of educational organizations for innovative activities».
