This article examines the transformation of the role of data in the modern economy and its impact on antitrust regulation. It is argued that data is evolving from a supporting element of economic activity into an independent economic asset that shapes the market power of digital platforms. The study analyzes the features of digital dominance, including network effects and the phenomenon of platform ecosystems. Special attention is paid to the inadequacy of traditional criteria for defining a dominant position in the context of zero-priced digital services. The paper proposes alternative approaches to assessing market power and considers the applicability of the essential facilities doctrine to data sets. Based on the analysis, recommendations are formulated for improving the antitrust legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
