The article provides a comprehensive legal analysis of the institutional role of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the extradition process. It examines the international and national legal foundations of extradition, the distribution of powers among competent state authorities, and the importance of interagency cooperation. The study substantiates that the Ministry of Internal Affairs does not act as a body making procedural decisions in extradition cases, but rather functions as a key practical enforcement mechanism. Based on the research findings, the author formulates proposals aimed at improving interagency cooperation in the field of extradition.
