ABSTRACT It is known that metaphorization is primarily the result of cognitive activity. Its linguistic manifestations are diverse and reflect the specific features of culture. Linguoculturology studies linguistic units in the context of their use in specific situations, drawing conclusions about the stereotypes, norms, and values of the culture to which the language belongs. In this sense, in the present article, linguocultural concepts are examined in the unity of images, symbols, and metaphors as a linguocultural code. The linguistic sign, cultural, and linguocultural codes are distinguished, substantiating the change in content, function, and informational load of the message in the cultural context. It is shown that traces of mythological symbolism are preserved in the linguocultural code, and any linguocultural code points to its fundamental cultural code, with language standing out for its universality of expression among all codes. Keywords: language, culture, sign, code, linguocultural code, isomorphism, metaphor, universal object code, categorization.
