ABSTRACT This article discusses ways to use synonyms repeatedly in artistic discourse. When synonymous words are used in artistic speech, differences in meaning and emotional-expressive features are evaluated by a reader because the specific use of each synonymous word or phrase facilitates the clarity and fluidity of an expressed idea. Accordingly, understanding how synonyms are paired and organized in written and oral speech is of particular value. In general, synonymous repetitions comprise synonymous words, free combinations, or phrases that are assembled in a common sense, adjacently in the same sentence, for different purposes. There are two variations of synonymous repetition in the Uzbek language, and one of these is the widespread use of synonyms in pairs and in conjunction. Such repetition of synonyms is not a mere superfluous increase in quantity but a specific methodology with the goal of strengthening and emphasizing meaning. Synonymous repetitions indicate a common denotation, but numerical multiplicity makes the use of each repetition unique, i.e., qualitatively different, through its specific range and style. Key words: artistic speech, synonym, synonymous word, synonymous phrase, synonymous repetition, cohesive part, cohesive phrase, lexical-phraseological synonym, phraseological unit
