ABSTRACT Concepts such as the purpose of communication, speech strategy, and pragmatic effect, which play an important role in speech communication, reflect the essence of the pragmatic task of dialogues and monologues, which are the main means of interaction in artistic texts. Also, national characteristics are reflected in the units involved in ensuring the uniqueness of the language of the artistic work. This is especially manifested as an expression of mentality in dialogues, monologues and polylogues used to individualize the character's speech. In this article, the pragmatic possibilities of dialogue in the literary text are analyzed on the example of the works of the writer Murad Muhammad Dost. Key words: pragmatics, dialogue, communicative goal, speech strategy, act, illocutionary act.
