ABSTRACT It is widely recognized that the Uzbek population has engaged in interactions with diverse ethnic groups throughout different historical periods. These encounters have left a profound imprint on the Uzbek language. Consequently, the lexicon of the Uzbek language has expanded through the assimilation of terms originating from economic, political, and cultural exchanges. When borrowed into other languages, such as Russian, Arabic, or Persian, these words have undergone adaptations to conform to the phonetic norms of the recipient languages, resulting in the loss of their original Uzbek phonetic characteristics. For instance, the Uzbek terms oqsoqol, qarovul, tog‘a are articulated as oqsaqol, qarovul, tag‘o in Tajik, whereas the Uzbek words tanga, qishloq, o‘rik are pronounced as деньги, кишлак, урюк in Russian. Evidently, a tendency exists to conform to the phonetic standards of other languages, with English in particular, without eliminating the influence of the established Russian pronunciation that prevailed during the Soviet era within the Uzbek language. As language is an ever-evolving entity, lexical inventories are perpetually augmented with novel terms, words, and phrases that serve to connect our society with the global sphere, while simultaneously undergoing transformations at the cultural and spiritual levels. Lexical resources function as reflective tools of societal life, thereby rendering lexicographic dictionaries in all languages invaluable as observers of social metamorphoses. Keywords: Announcement, address, ensemble, album, questionnaire, luggage, replica, situation, aksakal, korovul, togo, village, urik.
