Phraseology—the study of fixed expressions, idioms, and established word combinations—plays a vital role in shaping linguistic identity and understanding across cultures. Uzbek and English, though originating from distinct linguistic families, share a common feature: a rich phraseological system that conveys deep cultural and historical meanings. This article explores the similarities and differences in Uzbek and English phraseology, shedding light on how these linguistic elements impact cross-cultural communication. By analyzing idioms, proverbs, and fixed expressions, we gain valuable insights into how people from different backgrounds think, express emotions, and perceive the world.
