We conducted a prospective analysis of 163 patients with the new coronavirus infection COVID-19 hospitalized at the infectious diseases hospital of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Epidemiology, Microbiology, Infectious and Parasitic Diseases and the Samarkand Regional Specialized Medical Center for the period 2020-2022, depending from the severity of the condition. The possibilities of using markers of vascular endothelial growth factor VEGF - A as predictors of severity in patients with COVID 19 complicated by pneumonia were studied. In selected patients with severe and moderate COVID 19, there is an increase in the level of inflammatory markers and vascular endothelial growth factor VEGF-A in the acute period and continue to remain within high values at the time of discharge in patients with severe disease. It has also been found to be associated with oxygen saturation levels, procalcitonin levels, ferritin levels, C-reactive protein (CRP) and the amount of hemoglobin in the blood. The presence of a connection between the level of VEGF-A and markers of inflammation in the blood confirms its role as a biomarker of inflammation, the development of endothelial dysfunction with disease progression in the period of early convalescence.
