In congenital malformation external auditory canal, aberration of facial nerve is not rare (32.03%). The most commonly encountered malformation of facial nerve is facial nerve displacement (68.29%) rather than the previously reported dehiscence of fallopian canal. Facial nerve displacement can include blockage of the oval window, bifurcation and crossing over the promontory. Facial nerve displacement and accompanying malformation of stapes and oval window influence the choice of surgery for hearing improvement.
