The work presented below identifies the similar and different aspects of the theoretical information given in academic lyceums, vocational colleges and higher educational institutions published on the topic of synonym classification in Uzbek linguistics over the past century. Uzbek linguistics generally divides synonyms into lexical, syntactic and morphological sections. The given material mainly highlights the definition and the exapmles given to the types of lexical synonyms which are ideographic, stylistic and absolute synonyms.
