The article analyzes the issues of organizing the legal foundations of sports events, the status of participating subjects, their rights and obligations, the classification and types of sports events, regulations regarding sports, mechanisms for regulating civil legal relations arising from the organization and holding of sports events, the peculiarities of the application of contracts, responsibility, features legislation of foreign countries in this area. Proposals and recommendations for improving national legislation in this area have been developed.
