Purpose of the study. Determination of the features of the formation of damage to the structures of the spinal cord and their differences in persons affected by various mechanical injuries. Materials and research methods. Based on the purpose of the work and the tasks set, it is explained that the studies were carried out in the following 3 groups: 1-group. A forensic medical examination of the bodies of 82 people who died from joint injuries as a result of a fall from a height was carried out. The age of the deceased was from 16 to 84 years, men - 64 and women - 18. 2 - group. Forensic medical examinations of the bodies of 172 pedestrians who died during collisions with moving vehicles were carried out. Among the deceased there were 134 men, 38 women, their age ranged from 16 to 80 years. In 140 cases, pedestrian collisions were caused by modern vehicles, in 29 cases by older vehicles, and in 3 cases the vehicle type was not determined. 3 - group. A forensic medical examination of the bodies of 61 car drivers who died as a result of injuries as a result of traffic accidents was carried out. Among them were 60 men and 1 woman aged 20 to 69 years. Results. When falling from a height, it was found that a fall from a height is more often characterized by the formation of damage to the joints of three or more parts of the body (in 62 cases out of 82). Spinal cord injuries are part of double injuries associated with a fall from a height, and damage to these structures is observed in 51.2% of cases. Conclusion: When falling from a height, double injuries of the head, thoraco-animal and hand-foot structures predominate. In case of spinal cord injury (51.2%), two or more parts of it are damaged, in most cases compression fractures are observed. In a collision of moving vehicles with pedestrians: predominantly distraction and rotational fractures are formed in the structures of the spinal cord, and they are accompanied by damage to the spinal joints, and injuries are formed mainly in the cervicothoracic and partially lumbar structures. With internal injuries of drivers: injuries of the neck and back in the structures of the spinal cord, as well as damage to the cervicothoracic region are typical.
