CLINICAL AND NEUROLOGICAL FEATURES OF ISCHEMIC STROKE IN YOUNG WITH ALCOHOL DEPENDENCE

Research goal - study of clinical and neurological features of ischemic stroke in young people suffering from alcoholism. Materials and methods. The study included 62 patients with verified ischemic stroke in the acute period at the aged 22-44 (mean age 38.71±6.5 years): main group – 30 (48,4%) patients with alcohol dependence, comparison group – 32 (51,6%) patients without alcohol dependence. Research results. In patients of the main group, the predominance of smoking, AH (89.7% versus 63.6%) and coronary artery disease (28.2% versus 20.5). When studying clinical semiotics, headache was observed in 71.8% of cases in the main group, dizziness was noted in 41% of cases and was accompanied by nausea and vomiting. In persons with alcohol dependence, cognitive (100%), stem (83.3%), motor (90%) and speech disorders prevailed (86,6%). At the time of admission, 28.2% of patients in the main group had a mild degree according to the NIHSS scale, 33.3% of patients had a moderate degree, 10.3% had a severe degree, and 28.2% had an extremely severe degree of neurological disorders. Extremely severe severity of neurological disorders, and the mildest course of the process (6±1.75) were recorded in patients with GDI.
