This article examines the role of literary works in the origin and development of the comedy genre in Uzbek cinema, the fact that the best film comedies are film adaptations of the best literary works, their characters, artistic features are analyzed, and the ideological features of the films, achievements and shortcomings of the creative approach were expressed.
