Ёпиқ грунтда сабзавот экинларини етиштиришда очиқ грунтдагига қараганда кўпроқ сарф-харажат талаб эти- лади. Бу асосан, шу грунтда ўсимлик учун мақбул шароитни яратиш билан боғлиқ харажатлардир. Ёпиқ грунтда гетерозис дурагайларни етиштириш ҳосилдорликни ва шу билан бирга рентабелликни оши- риш имконини берувчи асосий омиллардан бири бўлиб ҳисобланади. Ўсимликларда гетерозисдан фойдаланиш ўсимликлар махсулдорлигини оширишнинг мухим усулидир. Гетерозис дурагайларнинг ҳосилдорлиги оддий дурагайлар ҳосилдорлигига қараганда 15 – 30 % баъзан 50% юқори бўлади. Иссиқхона сабзавотчилиги амалиётида кўп мамлакатларда бодринг ва помидорнинг асосан гетерозис дурагайларидан фойдаланилади. Гетерозис кўпинча ўсимлик ўлчамининг ўсишида, баъзан эса унинг айрим қисмлари, яъни барги, гултўплами, меваси, поя қалинлигида, биологик томондан эса гетерозис ўсимлик ўсишининг тезлашиши ва ота-она шаклларига нисбатан тез- пишарлигида намоён бўлади.
