Мева-сабзавотлар таркибида инсон саломатлиги учун зарур бўлган углеводлар, органик кислоталар, витаминлар, минерал тузлар, ферментлар, фитонцитлар ва бошқа биологик фаол моддаларнинг кўплиги билан улар инсонларнинг муҳим озиқа моддаси эканлигидан далолат беради. Маълумки, бугунги кунга келиб ер юзидаги аҳоли сони тахминан 7,5 миллиарддан ортиб кетди ва бу кўрсаткич кун сайин ортиб бормоқда.
