This article classifies the main object of the field of onomastics, anthroponyms, analyzes their functions and types. The author also studied the most widely studied type of anthroponyms - the names of people and the history of the nomination of a person among the Uzbek people. In addition, pseudonyms, the names of fabulous and legendary personalities are described.
