Currently, one of the most terrible risks for society is drug addiction. All over the world, there is a trend toward “rejuvenation” of drug users, which poses the threat of losing a significant number of young citizens. In recent years, Uzbekistan has undergone major changes associated with a general atmosphere of permissiveness, which has led to a sharp growth of alternative subcultures. The lack of formation of spiritual and moral positions and beliefs, the emptiness of the inner world undermine the ability for auto-reflection, are the cause of destructiveness and alienation of some youth, and the emergence of youth subculture groups. In this regard, the article sets the task of testing this hypothesis in a study of youth subculture groups in Tashkent in 2021-2022. The purpose of the study of drug addiction in youth subculture groups was to determine the characteristics of their system of value-normative regulation, the causes of drug addiction and to identify the personality types of young people of the subculture, both those who use drugs (U) and those who do not use drugs (N).
