This article discusses the displacement problems related to the simplest representative of the equations that are appropriate in a hyperbolic type, namely the slender oscillation equation. It explores more general displacement problems for the slender oscillation equation, from which the well-known classical problems for this equation arise: the problems of Cauchy, Cauchy-Goursat, and Goursat.
