The article is devoted to the analysis of the formation of competitive qualities in young people by Eastern and Western thinkers. In the West, human beings are at the center, and in the East, the values of society and the individual, the rules of morality, prevail. The analysis of political, economic, cultural, social and psychological processes in the formation of competitive qualities of young people is presented. The role of social institutions such as family, education, economy, state, which influence the formation of competitive qualities in young people, is also revealed. The essence of the concepts of paradigm, competition, competitiveness is highlighted. The views, ideas, theories, teachings and models that are important for the development of knowledge, competence, creative potential and social relations in society, the development of society in young people entering the labor market are presented, conclusions and recommendations are given
