The article examines the phenomenon of metaphor as one of the means of representing the linguistic picture of the world in Uzbek and English linguocultures. In the proposed study, the linguistic picture of the world is considered in as a way of conceptualizing the surrounding world, specific to each individual language, which has both universal and national specifics. The article points out the importance of studying the metaphor as a culturally-marked layer of the language, necessary for understanding the features reflection of the linguistic picture of the world by representatives of different languages and cultures. The purpose of the proposed research - to show the features of image perception using the example of Uzbek and English ethnocultural metaphors "World" by representatives of Uzbek and English linguocultures. The study used integrated methods of cognitive and discourse analysis.
