<p><em>В этимологических словарях некоторые лексические единицы иногда указываются как происходящие от туркменского языка, тогда как на самом деле они восходят к общим корням, основанным на древнетюркских языках. Наряду с этим в некоторых случаях наблюдается искусственное отнесение слов, которые явно имеют тюркское происхождение, к другим языковым семьям, что рассматривается как научно необоснованный подход. В традиционных исследованиях редко проводится сравнение лексических единиц из языков, не имеющих генетической связи. Между тем, изучение типологических соответствий в этой области может привести к более эффективным научным результатам.</em></p>
