This article presents the results of field and laboratory studies on the introduction and evaluation of jute (Corchorus olitorius) varieties under the soil and climatic conditions of Uzbekistan. The research focused on seed germination, phenological development, morphological traits, fiber yield, and α-cellulose content. Five jute varieties (K-160, K-158, K-159, K-154, and K-144) were studied using a randomized experimental design with three replications. The results showed that the K-159 and K-158 varieties demonstrated superior growth performance, stem quality, ease of bast separation, and higher fiber yield compared to other varieties. In addition, the study confirmed that jute fiber can be considered a promising alternative raw material for cellulose production, contributing to the diversification of fiber crops in Uzbekistan.
