Bayhua (spoken language) served as an important factor in the formation of Chinese linguistics. Of particular note are the works of Lao She, one of the most prolific writers in the Bayhua language. The language of the work is clear and simple, popular due to its relevance even today. Based on the analysis of the lexical-grammatical features of Lao She’s works, we get an opportunity to explore aspects of the Peking dialect and the phenomenon of erosion that are unknown to us.
