This article analyzes the significance of haploids in breeding and genetic research, their applications, and the theoretical and practical foundations of haploid production methods. The main stages of obtaining haploids and doubled haploids in winter bread wheat breeding are presented, and the factors affecting this process as well as the constraints encountered are described in detail. The role and importance of Doubled Haploid technology in breeding programs are also highlighted.
