This scholarly article extensively explores the linguistic, cultural, didactic, and stylistic aspects of proverbs. The author analyzes proverbs as expressions of various nations’ cultures, historical experiences, moral views, and worldviews. Through the perspectives of scholars on proverbs, the article investigates their linguistic features, stylistic devices, and educational significance. It also outlines semantic, contextual, and modular theoretical approaches used in the study of proverbs.The article examines how students comprehend and use proverbs through different levels of phraseodidactic barriers (semantic, syntactic, paraphrastic, contextual, and pragmatic). The research emphasizes the importance of integrating proverbs into the process of foreign language teaching, particularly focusing on their pragmatic functions and practical application.This article substantiates the necessity of using methodical approaches based on linguistic and didactic theories to develop learners’ intercultural communicative competence through proverbs in foreign language education.
