The article analyzes dermatoglyphic signs in 120 athletes - the European population, competing in cyclic sports, in particular, in athletes - short-distance swimmers and track and field sprinters. A positive correlation of the total ridge count with the level of development of motor qualities was revealed. Low values of total ridge count are associated with a high level of development of motor qualities in athletes of the Caucasian population.
