This article presents a musical analysis of William Shakespeare's "Hamlet." The work was revised by various composers in musical directions, among which the operas of Ambrouis Thomas and Brett Dean, as well as symphonic interpretations by composers such as P. I. Tchaikovsky and D. Shostakovich, hold a special place. The article analyzes the dramatic functions of music - expressing characters' inner experiences, creating stage atmosphere, and enhancing plot dynamics. In particular, the portrayal of Hamlet and Ophelia through music, and how their psychological states are conveyed to the listener, were analyzed.
