This article analyzes the semantic and stylistic significance of idioms in Togʻay Murod's novel "Otamdan qolgan dalalar" (Fields Left by My Father). The study reveals that these idioms, particularly those from the Surkhandarya dialect, play a crucial role in shaping the novel's themes, defining character traits, and expressing the national spirit. Through a lexical-semantic, stylistic, and linguistic-cultural analysis, the article demonstrates how expressions such as "Tulki qiziga toʻy berdi" (The fox gave a wedding for her daughter) and "Jasadingdan eshak hurkadi" (A donkey shied away from your corpse) enhance the text's expressiveness and poetic quality. The research highlights Togʻay Murod's unique contribution to the Uzbek literary language and serves as a foundation for a future dictionary of idioms.
