This paper presents an analysis of didactics as a scientific discipline covering theoretical and practical aspects of the educational process. Didactics is defined as a subdivision of pedagogical science that deals with the development and systematization of theories of learning and education. The study identified key didactic principles, including the correspondence of the complexity of educational tasks to the cognitive capabilities of students, as well as the principle of integrating learning with student independence. In addition, a correlation was established between the quality and dynamics of acquisition of knowledge, skills and abilities and the degree of activity of the learning subject.
