This article describes the Republic of Karakalpakstan, which forms the administrative-territorial structure of the Republic of Uzbekistan, its special place in the formation of the current economic and demographic state of Uzbekistan. The article discusses changes in the dynamics of the population of Karakalpakstan, the gender, age and national composition of the population. Natural factors influencing population changes, namely birth and death rates, were also analyzed. The dynamics of the number of labor resources and changes in its structure, the number of employed people in the economy, its share in the structure of industries, the number of unemployed, and the unemployment rate are studied.
