This article evaluates the valuable agronomic and breeding traits of chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) varieties and breeding lines grown under irrigated conditions. During the study, varieties and accessions from the world germplasm collection were comprehensively assessed for their resistance to biotic and abiotic stress factors, grain yield, and other important agrobiological characteristics. As a result, promising varieties and breeding lines possessing high yield potential, resistance to stress factors, and valuable agronomic traits were identified. The selected genotypes are recommended for use as donor varieties in chickpea breeding programs aimed at developing new high-yielding and stress-tolerant cultivars.
