This study compared 22 winter wheat accessions of local and foreign origin for their key biometric and yield parameters. The aim of the study was to identify genotypes with morphobiological characteristics ensuring high productivity and to include them in breeding efforts. The accessions showed that the plant height ranged from 83.1 to 119.0 cm, the ear length was 7.9 to 10.2 cm, the number of grains per ear was 33.2 to 59.3, the grain weight per ear was 1.6 to 2.2 g, the number of productive ears was 328 to 410 grains/m², and the yield varied in the range of 53.6 to 83.6 t/ha. According to the results of a comprehensive evaluation, the KN-5224, WEE/PLN/2IVI, POP-SAZ-13, WVR-00-52 and M33IBWSN-71 accessions outperformed standard varieties across a number of productivity parameters. In particular, the KN-5224 accession achieved a yield of 83.6 c/ha due to a well-developed ear, high grain number, and grain weight. The obtained results indicate that these accessions can be used as valuable initial breeding material for the development of high-yielding and competitive winter wheat varieties.
