This article discusses the issue of developing students' speech literacy using educational tasks in Uzbek language lessons from a scientific, theoretical and practical perspective. The role of interactive and communicative tasks in the formation of speech competence, their effectiveness in improving students' oral and written speech skills are analyzed. Also, the possibilities of developing students' independent thinking, logical expression and compliance with language standards through the stage-by-stage (reproductive, productive and creative) organization of educational tasks are shown.
