This article analyzes the materials of the “Turkestan Collection” concerning the water resources of Central Asia, namely the Aral Sea, the basins of the Amu Darya, Syr Darya, Ili rivers, and lakes Balkhash and Issyk-Kul. A source study assessment of the significance of these materials in studying the history of the region’s water systems in the 19th – early 20th centuries is given.
