This article provides a comprehensive examination of the linguodidactic foundations underlying the use of authentic materials for teaching productive language skills to philology students in higher education. The research delves into the theoretical and practical dimensions of incorporating authentic materials in language instruction, particularly focusing on their role in developing students’ speaking and writing abilities. Special attention is given to the correlation between the use of authentic materials and the enhancement of communicative competence, encompassing both linguistic proficiency and socio-cultural awareness. In addition, the study addresses the challenges and opportunities involved in integrating authentic materials into the tertiary-level philology curriculum, offering insights into current trends in language teaching methodologies and proposing practical recommendations for educators in the field.
