Recent studies in cognitive neurobiology have shown that biological neurons interact with each other through multiple neurotransmitter channels: a single neuron simultaneously secretes different neurotransmitters, each of which performs a specific function. Based on this approach, the article proposes a new type of radial basis neural network model. In the model, the connection between two neurons is represented not by a single value, but by a set of values, that is, multi-weighted connections; each connection models a specific type of neurotransmitter. Such a structure brings the model closer to real biological neuronal systems.
