X12M grade steel is considered high-alloy and is widely used in the manufacture of parts operating under deformation conditions and under impact stress. Parts made from this steel are of great importance for heat treatment, which improves physical and mechanical properties. Thermal cycling treatment (TCT) is based on repeated heating and cooling without keeping the steel at constant heating temperatures, which requires the development of separate modes for each steel grade. This paper presents the parameters for thermal cycling of steel grade X12M.
