The article summarizes current literature data reflecting approaches and concepts for the development of scientifically grounded methods for studying the dynamic operating modes of cotton harvesters (CH). It highlights the need to transition from quasi-static and isolated experimental models to multi-level modeling structures capable of accounting for the complex influence of internal and external factors on the machine's behavior. Particu-lar attention is given to issues of stability and controllability of movement, as well as to improving the energy and agrotechnical efficiency of CH operation under various condi-tions. Directions for optimizing movement and control parameters using intelligent and predictive systems are substantiated. The presented results form a methodological foun-dation for the further development of digital models and automated control systems for agricultural machinery.
